So....what would people wanna try out!

Threads for interest checks, game planning, game discussion, etc. go here. This subforum is, generally speaking, out of character.

So....what would people wanna try out!

Open New Forum new place to put big ol long blocks of text been thinking of old post from when I used boards like this more regularly but I'm curious if other people have things they have in their heads they want to type things about!

I know after playing so much TWEWY Neo I've thought running a Reaper's Game would be a fun thing today folks taking on roles of Reapers and players ect. Or expanding some of the dice games we've all been parts of and using those OC's in some fun stories with the limiters of the systems removed!

I Know I've been working on a bunch of TTRPG settings that might actually work better as like RP settings from zombie survival stuff to slice of life ghost stories tons of options just trying to honestly narrow my thoughts and figure out how to make pretty my post anyone figured I'd ask if anyone wanted to brainstorm or recommend some ideas or hear out some of my pitches.

Oh And this does serve as the obligatory chance for more folks to jump in the air pirate pit with me...

Another thing to think about is what kind of format people would prefer to RP in:
  • Each thread is it's own game with pretty much all events contained within
  • Each forum is it's own game with all threads within for various different chapters/locations/etc.
  • One big-ass, forum-wide RP that is split into forums and sub-forums for everything
I'm kind of leaning toward a combination of the first two options. Putting everything into one big forum to start, then if any games pick up particular steam, spinning them off into their own subforums. Could also split them up into different genres, or types of games... Really, we are limitless!

I feel like separating more gamey games, looser but still like game stuff, and more general hangout rp into its own sub forums may not be an awful idea. Genres and systems might be best done with either tags if those are supported or if not, just brackets (like the forum that shall not be named does for games)

I would rank the options in the order your presented them, with games contained within a thread being most desirable.
I might be overthinking something simple, but for situations where the RP spills over between threads as in option 2, could the collection of impacted threads all be sequestered under another folder or sub-forum so that the borderless RP stuff can still happen, but contained within the larger RP set?

I have a game to run today but i can set up something excited to construct a intro post and stuff again! I believe for bigger multi thread or group post it'd be wise to have those in their own forum subs but those might be on request? I have zero idea how much work that is on your end Zarah so that may be moot.

In any case I've been wanting to share the Halcyon setting in have been running stuff in so if people are okay with a game with the serial numbers rubbed off it full speed ahead!

For the record, making forums and subforums is incredibly simple and can be done on a whim. I dunno if there's a limit to how many I can make, but it doesn't seem like it. I could very easily have a general RP forum with subforums for each game with their own threads.

one type of forum game i remember really enjoying is "text adventure" style threads, where one person acted as the GM of sorts, describing situations that other poster would reply with decisions of what to do. If no one minds, I would like to start a thread like that and we can see if it's a good time.
